Hybrid photovoltaic and wind mini-grids in Kenya: Techno-economic assessment and barriers to diffusion

IREK researcher Rebecca Hanlin in collaboration with Rasmus Magni Johannsen and Poul Alberg Østergaard published an article with the title “Hybrid photovoltaic and wind mini-grids in Kenya: Techno-economic assessment and barriers to diffusion”.

The article explores why small wind turbines have largely been omitted from Kenyan mini-grids from both a techno-economic and diffusion theoretical perspective.

Rasmus M. Johannsen, a Master student at Aalborg University, worked with the IREK Project and the African Centre for Technology Studies (ACTS) in Kenya as part of his internship. Poul A. Østergaard is a Professor at the Department of Planning in Aalborg University.
